I hustle from the ship. It's done. I made sure to tell Nico we’d be gone for a while, hoping they figure it out before we get back. It's the only shot they have at making it.

After Ruby had those bastards beat this little girl to within an inch of her life, I knew at the first opportunity; I would get them out even if that meant I had to die trying. It's just my luck that Harrington set up another drop off in the States, right where we kidnapped Nico and Angel from in the first place. I couldn't give them a heads up or reach out to the club to tell them where to find them, but I could give them a chance.

I left Angel's cuffs loose enough for her to slip free and a crowbar close by so they could free Nico. It's completely believable for Angel's cuffs to slip off, but if there isn't significant damage to Nico's cuff to indicate he broke out, Harrington will know they had help. Since I'm on the outs with them after the fight with Ruby, they would immediately know it's me.

Nico would figure it out and get them free. I'm sure of it.

"What the fuck is so funny?" Lou asks from his side of the car.

"What?" I turn to face him quickly.

"You’re over there smiling as if you just remembered how."

My eyebrows shoot up slightly. That’s an apt observation, "Mind your own business." I turn away from him, but I don't stop smiling. It feels like I truly did just remember how to smile. I was no longer just going through life day after day, waiting for the day things would get better. This is the first step. My world is about to change drastically from here, and I can't wait.
